The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors Association (AMCA) is a nation wide trade association established to represent and service its members in the broad air conditioning and mechanical services industry. The Association of Consulting Architects (ACA) is a national body with branches in each state of Australia. There are over 30 companies that are members of the ACA in South Australia.

The role of the ACA is to represent the interests of employer architects or firms. All the major employer architectural firms in South Australia are members of the ACA. The South Australian branch of the ACA co-operates closely with the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and communicates and liaises with the Government on a range of industry issues. The ACA both state wide and nationally is a member of the ACBDP.

The Association of Consulting Engineers Australia (ACEA) is an industry association that represents the principals of firms providing engineering and related professional services.

To be eligible for membership, engineers must be corporate members of the Institution of Engineers or their equivalent professional body; their firm must be privately owned and involved principally in providing engineering and management services; the majority of directors must also be engineers or eligible for membership.

The expertise of members ranges from acoustics, to civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, geo-technical, hydraulics, built services, environmental, transport, manufacturing, water, project management and forensic engineering.

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) was founded in 1966 and aims to maintain standards of professional practice, to educate the public about the profession, and to achieve a high standard of environmental planning and design. The most common method of entry into the AILA is by completing one of the recognised Landscape Architecture courses and a professional practice examination.

Landscape architecture practices in SA are traditionally small, one to three person operations, although there are some large collaborative practices.
