The Association of Consulting Architects (ACA) is a national body with branches in each state of Australia. There are over 30 companies that are members of the ACA in South Australia. The role of the ACA is to represent the interests of employer architects or firms. All the major employer architectural firms in South Australia are members of the ACA. The South Australian branch of the ACA co-operates closely with the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and communicates and liaises with the Government on a range of industry issues. The Association of Consulting Engineers Australia (ACEA) is an industry association that represents the principals of firms providing engineering and related professional services. The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) was founded in 1966 and aims to maintain standards of professional practice, to educate the public about the profession, and to achieve a high standard of environmental planning and design. The most common method of entry into the AILA is by completing one of the recognised Landscape Architecture courses and a professional practice examination.
